Odia Jatiyata: Eka purnanga ‘o’ Swatantra Odisha Pradesha Gathanara Prayas 1866-1956

The book launch ceremony of Odia Jatiyata, authored by eminent historian Dr. Nivedita Mohanty, was held today at the GKCM Odishi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar. This book, translated by Subash Satpathy from Dr. Nivedita Mohanty’s original English work ‘Oriya Nationalism’, has been published by Ketaki Foundation Trust. It delves into extensive research on the struggle to preserve Odia identity and the formation of a separate Odia state, exploring historical milestones in the pursuit of cultural and linguistic autonomy.

Distinguished guests on the dais included Dr. Devi Prasanna Pattanaik, Shri Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Dr. Nivedita Mohanty, Shri Abhiram Biswal, Shri Suvash Satapathy, and Trustee Shri Rabindra K. Swain. Their presence added significance to the event, highlighting the historical and cultural impact of Odia Jatiyata on Odisha’s heritage and its resonance with contemporary Odia identity.
