About the Book

Written by Aparna Mohapatra, the biography paints a vivid portrait of her mother, Nirupama Devi, whose life was devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and education. As a teacher, philanthropist, and mother, Nirupama’s story is an inspiring reflection of humility, discipline, and service.

Aparna Mohapatra’s writing showcases her mother’s multifaceted life—balancing her love for teaching, singing, gardening, and managing her household, all while instilling Gandhian values in her children. One charming anecdote captures how Nirupama convinced her children that bad language would cause cavities, adding a lighthearted and personal touch to the narrative.
