The release function of DVA SUPARNA, the English translation of the celebrated Odia literary work by Sahitya Akademi Award-winning author Prof. Soubhagya kumar Misra, was organised by Ketaki Foundation Trust on 12 June 2026 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. The programme brought together writers, translators, readers, poets and literature enthusiasts in an evening dedicated to literature, translation and poetic dialogue.

Published by Ketaki Books and translated into English by Rabindra K. Swain, DVA SUPARNA was formally released in the presence of eminent scholar Prof. Kalidas Misra, who attended the programme as the Chief Speaker. In his address, Prof. Misra reflected on the literary depth, philosophical resonance and contemporary relevance of Soubhagya kumar Misra’s writings, while also emphasising the importance of translation in carrying Odia literature to wider national and international readerships.

The evening featured readings of selected poems from the book in both Odia and English. Poet Kedar Mishra recited “Iran” in Odia, followed by its English translation presented by Bharadwaj Mishra. Poet Bharat Majhi presented “Dwara”, while Manua Dash read its English translation, “Door”. These readings created a meaningful dialogue between the original texts and their translated versions, highlighting the emotional and lyrical essence of the work across languages.

Rabindra K. Swain shared reflections on the experience and challenges of translating the book, while Prof. Soubhagya kumar Misra spoke about the creative journey behind the work and his engagement with poetry and language over the years.
