The prestigious Kala Samman was conferred upon Shilpiguru Benudhar Mahapatra in recognition of his exceptional work in preserving and advancing traditional visual art forms. In his acceptance, Mahapatra reflected on Dr. Pathy’s influence, sharing how the award motivates him to keep his artistic practice rooted in Odisha’s cultural heritage while exploring new expressions.

An intellectually rich Memorial Lecture was delivered by Prof. Basant Kumar Panda, who delved into Dr. Pathy’s multifaceted legacy. Describing Pathy’s work as “vast and varied,” Prof. Panda highlighted the unique interplay of real-life experience and imagined narratives in Pathy’s art, which invites deeper reflection and meaning.
