Ketaki Foundation Trust conferred the 2nd Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman on Sri Jayadev Maharana (Veteran Chitrakar) and released a coffee table book ‘The Kumbha Mela-Joined in Dance’ on 2nd April, 2022 at 05.45 PM at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar.

The 2nd Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman was conferred on Sri Jayadev Maharana along with a cash award for his lifelong contribution to the dying art forms.

Sri Jayadev Maharana was born to an artist family in Raghurajpur, Puri, Odisha. He is skilled in the indigenous art forms like Pattachitra, Jatripatta, Ganjappa and Palm-leaf engravings. His entire life has been dedicated to the practice and upliftment of the folk-art form of Odisha.

Ketaki Foundation Trust also released the coffee table book inspired by the tour and performance of Krishna Leela (Odissi) by Sutra Foundation at the Kumbha Mela, 2019, a unique record of a rare India-Malaysia cultural experience and a close encounter with the largest festival on earth! The book is a joint publication by Sutra Foundation & KLJAAZ Art Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is designed by Jyoti Ranjan Swain of Third Eye Communication, Odisha.

The programme commenced with an opening presentation of ‘Suryastaka’(Odissi) by Geethika Sree, Principal Dancer, Sutra Foundation, Malaysia.

The occasion was graced by Sri Devdas Chhotray (Chief Guest), Dr Jatindra Kumar Nayak (Guest of Honour) and Datuk Ramli Ibrahim, Padma Shri (Special Guest) along with many other dignitaries.

Sri Jayadev Maharana was felicitated with the 2nd ‘Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman’ 2022 in the presence of dignitaries.
